Instrument Care
In order to protect your FISCHER guitar from damage, and preserve its beauty, please observe the following guidelines.
Do: handle with care
Do: clean with fine cloth (natural fibres) after use, particularly the instrument neck and body in areas where hands touch.
Do: observe humidity levels. Excessive temperature and humidity levels may in extreme circumstances cause cracking. Humidity readings between 45% and 55% would be ideal.
Do: apply small amount of lubricant (grease) to machine head gears yearly. Do: place a protective plate of plastic or card behind bridge when changing strings. Do: keep the guitar in its case when not in use.
Don’t: place guitar in direct sunlight, near radiators, fireplaces or hot lamps. The woods used in musical instruments are thin and delicate and can be easily damaged if placed in extreme conditions.
Don’t: use silicone based polishes. These can cause damage to the finish and interfere with any future maintenance or re-finish that may be required.
